DRAFTSMAN-DESIGN ENGINEER (J/O # 4637) - M-F/8-5, $38.56/per hour,  Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, paid Holidays, paid vacation.  Growing nationally recognized nondestructive testing company that manufactures custom, large-scale inspection systems is seeking a draftsman/design engineer.  Works closely with an experienced team of engineers and fabricators during all phases of development & production.  This position requires strong structural engineering skills with a solid ability to effectively communicate ideas.  This position is encouraged to exercise independent thinking and problem solving.   • Primary designer for all equipment builds.

  • Develop and design systems capable of handling 10,000 lb. pipe and other test pieces. 

  • Design housing and structure for a variety of NDT equipment.

  • Generation of engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications for compliance to customer requirements, applicable codes, and company design standards.


·         Perform project quality control, and shop drawing review.


 


Required Education & Experience


·         B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Industrial Systems Engineering or equivalent with 3+ years’ related work experience.


·         Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the application, function, design, and testing of industrial products.




Required Skills


·         Must possess strong 3D modeling skills.


·         Experience working with heavy loads in industrial applications.


·         Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, over a broad range of technical disciplines.


·         Fluent in AutoCad, or equivalent, and Microsoft programs.


·         Able to train and work in a team environment as well as independently.


·         Complete load, torque, and bearing calculations.


·         Ability to verify structural analysis and design prepared by other engineers.


·         Ability to prepare equipment quotations for sale to customers.




Desired Skills


·         Tubular goods experience.


·         Ability to foresee design problems and develop plans to mitigate future shortfalls.


·         Ability to lay out detailed construction plans.
