Job Description :

Call Center Customer Service - TEMP TO HIRE, (J/O #5200) - M-F/11:45 am-8:00 pm & Sat/8-5, $13/hr + benefits.  Will be scheduled for 1 day off during the week.  Prefer applicants to be bilingual in Spanish & English.  MUST have at least one year of experience at a financial institution.  Proficiency with MS Office - Word - Excel & experience with basic office equipment. Position Title:           Telephone Center Representative I

Reports To:               Telephone Center Supervisor/Office Manager

Compensation:         $13/hr + benefits

Basic Function:     


  • Answers telephone inquiries regarding Credit Union services and member accounts

  • Resolves problems encountered on member accounts

  • Refers problems to the appropriate department for resolution as necessary.


Primary Duties:


  • Answers telephone inquiries regarding Credit Union services and member accounts

  • Resolves problems encountered on member accounts or

  • Refers errors and problems to the telephone center supervisor for resolution as necessary.

  • Handles member account activity from:

    • Establishing eligibility of potential members

    • Opening all deposit and service-related accounts for the member.



  • Obtains basic information for completion of loan applications.

  • Identifies & cross sells relevant services.

  • Makes withdrawals for members by teller’s check for:

    • Mailing to account address

    • Transfers loan/credit card payments

    • Account transfers as requested by members and according to telephone center policy.



  • Makes necessary transactions for debit/atm cards (blocking cards for stolen/lost/closed accounts or unblocking for cards mailed back to members from Credit Union).

  • Assists members with debit/atm card inquiries and/or problems.

  • Reorders checks with no changes.

  • Completes verification of deposits for member activity received via mail or fax.

  • Sets up and assists members with home banking/bill payment/electronic statement services.

  • Quotes current loan and savings rates.   


Secondary Duties:

Cross-trains to learn Telephone Center Rep II skills.

 

Position Requirements:

Experience:     One or more years of experience in a financial institution. This position is considered a trainee position for Telephone Center Representative II position. The training period will depend on the individual.

 

Education:       High school diploma or equivalent.

 

Equipment:      Personal computer, basic office equipment

Personal:         Good communication skills, professional telephone skills and manners, and ability to explain Credit Union services in an understandable manner. Must maintain an organized and professional image at all times.

 

Physical:         While the following list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented, identified physical requirements include ability to operate normal office equipment. Some transporting, not to exceed 25 pounds.
