Communications and Security Technician - TEMP TO HIRE (J/O#5091) M-F 8a-5p $15-$18/hr DOE. Local business has an opening for a Communications and Security Service Technician. Typical hours will be 8am-5pm. Starting pay will be $15.00/hr to $18.00/hr depending on experience. Ideal candidate will be driving company vehicle so interested candidates MUST possess a driver’s License and have a clean driving record.

Required Qualifications :
 Job Summary:

Duties include installation and repair of communications and security systems within industrial, commercial, and residential construction. Other duties as assigned to meet business needs.


 


Responsibilities and Duties:



  • Installation of panels and devices.

  • Repair and service of installed systems.

  • Provide customer support and service to customers

  • Conduct orientations and trainings with customers.

  • Tone, test, and label cables

  • Termination and testing of contacts, motions, and other devices.

  • Termination of voice, data, video cables at distribution location and on jacks in the facility


 


Workskills: Attention to detail, good communication skills for documenting activities,


interfacing with customers and dealing with builders, able to work independently. Some computer skills.


 


Experience: Previous experience in low voltage communication installation in residential construction; voice data, audio and security. Familiarity with various home security systems.


 


Qualifications: General understanding of communication terminology and technology, working knowledge of tools and test equipment typically used in the communication construction industry.


 


Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three years or more related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Security Installation Tech CAT 1 (Certified Alarm Technician) Certification A PLUS.


 


Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position requires lifting up to 50 pounds and frequent prolonged periods of standing, bending, pulling, twisting, reaching, climbing and standing.


 


Work Environment: Industrial sites, Government facilities, Business sites, and Residential Home. While performing the duties of this position; the employee may be exposed to weather conditions from 100 degrees to below 0 degrees and exposed to various climates and conditions such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, some lifting, standing, crawling, stooping. Wearing of safety clothing and equipment may at times be required.
